Advantix Unveils e-SIM Provisioning for SmartSIM

First-of-its-kind EID matching method enables businesses to quickly provision SmartSIM data plans across their entire user base without purchasing and inserting physical SIMs

Advantix, a leading provider of technology expense management and wireless connectivity solutions, has introduced e-SIM provisioning for its multi-carrier SmartSIM offering.

SmartSIM is an award-winning solution that pairs any WAN-capable hardware that accepts a SIM card with the best-performing cellular network of over 600 carriers worldwide to ensure persistent data connectivity and inherent redundancy. Enterprises around the globe deploy SmartSIM in hardware devices such as tablets, mobile computers, handheld scanners, cellular routers, IoT gear and more to lower connectivity costs and improve coverage for their employees.

Now Advantix customers can deploy SmartSIMs without having to purchase a physical SIM card or scan a QR code to install a data plan on supported iPhones and iPads. The SmartSIM is electronically installed from Advantix’s proprietary TLM (Telecom LifeCycle Manager) portal using a first-of-its-kind EID (embedded identity document) matching method. The system digitally matches the EID to a device “over the air” and sends a popup that walks the user through a simple activation process.

“By uploading an EID manifest, we can provision bulk orders – thousands of devices if needed – and enable all of them simultaneously,” said Advantix CIO Brian Nuckels. “It is all automated behind the scenes to streamline the process for customers with mobile workforces. Enterprises that roll out seasonal devices to handle spikes in business, for example, do not have to coordinate with device manufacturers to ship, insert or swap out physical SIMs on premises.”

“It is a zero-touch way to install SmartSIMs and easy for users to activate,” adds Advantix CRO Natasha Royer Coons. “It’s also eco-friendly because it eliminates the need for plastic SIMs and packaging, and that appeals to us greatly.”

Apple/iOS devices supporting Advantix SmartSIM data plans include eSIM-enabled, dual-SIM iPhone models and e-SIM enabled iPads (Wi-Fi + cellular) with iOS 13.4 or later.

Advantix Wins 2020 Visionary Spotlight Award

ChannelVision Magazine Recognizes Advantix for Delivering Outstanding Enterprise Mobility Solutions

ChannelVision magazine has honored Advantix with a 2020 Visionary Spotlight Award for delivering outstanding enterprise mobility solutions.

Advantix won the 2020 Visionary Spotlight award for enabling a mobile computer deployment for a national fuel distributor. Advantix configured thousands of mobile computers with Advantix SmartSIM, a single-SIM, multi-carrier solution that connects to the best-performing cellular network for persistent connectivity and inherent redundancy.

Before the deployment, wireless connectivity was problematic for the fuel distributor because some of its drivers have routes in both suburban and rural areas with spotty cellular coverage. The SmartSIM implementation enables the drivers to have the best-possible cellular connectivity regardless of location. Additionally, Advantix supports the deployment with managed services including device management, expense management, reporting, analytics and 24x7 technical support.

The mobile computer deployment was such a success that the fuel distributor decided to do an additional deployment for thousands of installers and technicians to use SmartSIM-enabled tablets for customer visits. This gives them the ability to access company data, make presentations and swipe credit card transactions on site.

“We are honored to be recognized by ChannelVision magazine for providing outstanding enterprise mobility solutions,” said Natasha Royer Coons, chief revenue officer at Advantix. “Awards like this affirm that we are delivering on our promise to help customers operate more efficiently and better serve their end customers. That’s very gratifying for all of us at Advantix.”

SmartSIM benefits include:

  • Lower Connectivity Costs: Competitive, pre-negotiated carrier pricing reduces total spend.
  • Improved Coverage: SmartSIM provides multi-carrier switching on a single SIM, delivering persistent connectivity and redundancy.
  • Superior Security: SmartSIM provides deep packet inspection at the network layer to apply virus, malware, and content filtering.
  • Seamless Ordering and Billing: No need to shop for price, mess with account setup, or manage multiple contracts and invoices.
  • Managed Services: Add-on services are available to manage and optimize lines and activations, track zero-usage devices, deliver cost-allocation reporting and helpdesk services.

Visionary Spotlight Award honorees will be recognized in a magazine feature in the July/August issue of ChannelVision magazine.

He has launched national channel programs and established new markets for multiple technology companies. Prior to joining Advantix, Renville was the director of channel development and sales at KORE Telematics where he was responsible for recruiting and developing channel partners capable of selling the company’s machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions into small to large enterprises.

Brad Renville

“Brad is an accomplished and well-respected channel executive with years of experience working with sales partners and their clients,” said Natasha Royer Coons, chief revenue officer at Advantix. “He has an exceptional track record in the channel and strong relationships with leading master agents, distributors and partners throughout the country. He’s a perfect fit to help us develop our fast-growing channel program into a dominant one. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board.”

At Advantix, Renville will assist company leadership with business planning and focus on strategic channel development, leveraging his experience and relationships to further solidify the company’s growing portfolio and value proposition for sales partners.

“Advantix’s solutions and reputation in the market made this an easy decision for me,” said Renville. “They’re a stand-up group with products, support and fulfillment levels that elevate them above other companies selling similar solutions. They’re also deploying a unique bundle that leverages their BLITZ™ SaaS platform with carrier APIs, expense management software and end-to-end professional services to integrate, connect and manage any device and network.”

Renville adds that the bundle delivers a seamless fulfillment experience to the channel and end-user customers, enabling them to easily manage an entire fleet of wireless or fixed telecom inventory, services, spend, and contracts within a single system, as well as access analytics and real-time reporting that can improve business outcomes.

“It’s rare in our industry to get the opportunity to engage channel partners with a fast-growing and innovative company like Advantix,” said Renville. “I’m looking forward to getting started.“

Natasha Royer Coons to Speak About IoT Opportunities

Advantix Chief Revenue Officer Natasha Royer Coons will speak in the session “IoT in a Box: Are Prebuilt Bundles Right for Your Business?” at the upcoming Channel Partners Expo in Las Vegas.

The Internet of Things (IoT) consists of devices – from sensors to smartphones to appliances and wearables – connected together via the Internet and combined with automated systems to gather information, analyze it and create actions that lead to efficiencies and improved outcomes for businesses and consumers.

Service providers, distributors, IT suppliers and others are promoting pre-assembled sets of IoT hardware, software and sometimes connectivity, often tailored to specific verticals. For partners without integration expertise, these can seem like a win-win. However, the IoT market is far from shaken out, with literally hundreds of platforms available and new innovations constantly coming online.

In the Channel Partners session, Royer Coons will join Steve Brumer, a partner at IoT Group, to debate whether IoT bundles are a smart business bet or a recipe for lock-in, and discuss the pros and cons of an “in the box” approach versus custom integration.

The session begins at 11:20 a.m. on Wed., April 10 at the Mandalay Bay, the Channel Partner show venue. Partners looking for new revenue opportunities – even those without any IoT experience – should mark the date because the IoT frontier is expanding fast. Companies in just about every vertical are getting active or planning to get active with the technology.

Advantix Announces Mobility Integration API with AT&T

Advantix announces the availability of a new, automated end-to-end ordering platform, the AdvantixBLITZTM API integration with AT&T, that simplifies wireless order processing for AT&T customers.

Advantix, located in Richardson, Texas, is a leader in the mobility management service (MMS) and telecom expense management (TEM) channels. The company’s premium mobility integration product combined with AT&T’s eBonding platform provides seamless wireless product order processing that helps to save customers time and resources.

“Advantix customers have been benefitting from this solution since October of 2017, and we are now pleased to make it available for purchase on the open market,” said Nathan Brown, Chief Operating Officer at Advantix. “We are honored to work with AT&T to provide this exceptional order processing experience. Our cloud computing technology will enhance service levels and streamline wireless ordering and payment processes for AT&T customers.”

More than just a highly secure, cloud-based connectivity service, this simple solution is a “one-stop shop” that removes complex processes and streamlines ordering. The “plug n play” solution provides enhancements for wireless inventory, provider equipment and plan catalog, billing data, payment processing, store orders, and customer care.

The formerly manual process of transferring orders from the ticketing system into the AT&T portal is now automated. End users get near real-time price quoting and accurate prices before the order is placed and can now opt to pay for one-time equipment charges for devices and accessories using a credit card via a highly secure online web payment portal. Each transaction is auditable without the need to share user credit card information with a solutions center agent. In addition, AdvantixBLITZTM offers more efficient processing of customer orders with full logging and status tracking, boasting no lost orders.

The benefit that Advantix offers to AT&T customers is a better way to take advantage of the full spectrum of the existing AT&T eBonding platform by using a customized software interface. The highly secure platform meets customers’ unique business needs by enabling internal enterprise systems to generate transactions directly into AT&T proprietary systems, eliminating the need to re-key data from customer internal systems into AT&T systems.

The AT&T eBonding platform uses APIs to streamline the sending of large numbers of orders, trouble tickets, and inventory requests. The system also allows for rapid confirmation of transactions through e-mail, as well as on-demand status and inventory checks without customers having to call AT&T.

“The Advantix API is fully integrated with AT&T’s spectrum of services,” said Brian Nuckels, Chief Information Officer at Advantix. “The combination of our custom interface with automatic integration into the AT&T eBonding platform helps differentiate us from our competitors. For our customers, this platform takes away the complexity of developing their own API integration and further enhances their experience with instantaneous ordering and near real time access to device inventory and pricing.”

The AdvantixBLITZTM API integration with AT&T is also available for purchase through the AT&T Alliance Channel.

Advantix Acquires TeraNova's Mobility Management Business

Advantix, a global leader in fixed and wireless communications lifecycle management solutions, has acquired the mobility management practice of TeraNova, one of the fastest growing mobility and IoT providers in the country. Under the agreement, TeraNova is migrating its fixed and wireless managed services business and key leadership and support personnel to Advantix. Both companies will continue to operate under their own names in their areas of expertise while integrating some systems and personnel to help channel partners implement mobility and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

“TeraNova is a respected mobility and IoT managed services provider that is renowned for delivering highly customized, high-touch experiences to sales partners and customers, and we are proud to have the opportunity to work with such a talented team,” said Nathan Brown, co-founder and chief operating officer of Advantix. “We intend to leverage the respective strengths of Advantix and TeraNova to generate significant value for our companies, customers and sales partners.”

The acquisition pairs Advantix’s core competences in fixed and wireless expense management, helpdesk and customized reporting with TeraNova’s expertise in wireless networks and smart SIM IoT solutions to create a mobility and IoT powerhouse.

“We’re very excited about the synergies between our two companies to deliver best-in-class mobility, TEM and end-to-end IoT solutions to channel partners and their clients within a streamlined model,” explained Brad Frazier, co-founder and chief executive officer of Advantix. “We will help sales partners design and deliver integrated wireless solutions that drive better business outcomes for their clients and help them grow their own businesses.”

TeraNova Managing Director Natasha Royer Coons will assume the role of chief revenue officer at Advantix.

“Over the past few weeks as we have worked to integrate offerings, people and resources, it has become ever-more clear to me that this is a compelling match of values and visions that will empower customers and channel partners,” said Coons. “At TeraNova we couldn’t be more thrilled about the collaboration with Advantix to better serve a partner community whose clients are increasingly implementing IoT, mobility and TEM solutions to drive digital transformation.”

The expanding universe of IoT technology and supply chain elements are hyper-siloed, not integrated or channel-enabled. The combined companies will solve this problem, making it easier for channel partners to get increasingly active with mobility and IoT applications.
